Swimming at the Holiday Inn

For many years I've thought that I can remember this.  I'm sure I can't, I can barely be two or so.  Maybe I just remember seeing the pictures.

My hometown sits on the Mississippi River with a bridge that was built in the late 60's.  The highway into town would dead end into a Holiday Inn built when hotels were hotels.  There was an outdoor pool, a dining room, and rooms that mostly were all indoors.

The hotel is gone now.  In the very late 80s and early 90s I had a couple of jobs at the front desk and as a waiter, and then when my Mom returned to work she was a waitress and eventually the dining room supervisor.

But before all that, many years before, was this day when Mom and Dad took me swimming.
